VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Andrés Cubas has been called up to Paraguay's men's national team for their November international window.
After qualifying for their first FIFA Men's World Cup in 15 years last month, Paraguay are set to continue ramping up for the tournament with another pair of friendlies. First up, 'La Albirroja' will face the United States on Saturday, November 15 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, with kickoff at 2 p.m. PT. Paraguay will then play another Concacaf opponent in Mexico on Tuesday, November 18 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. PT.
Born in Argentina, Cubas has represented Paraguay at the international level 32 times since 2020, making 30 starts in World Cup Qualifying, Copa América and friendly competition. Cubas previously played for Argentina at the U-20 level, where he started two of his three appearances for the side at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
This season, Cubas has started 34 of his 38 appearances across all competitions in 2025, recording one assist.
All-time, Cubas has made 122 starts and 131 appearances since joining Whitecaps FC in April 2022, adding a goal as well as 10 assists.
